International CES 2014 has come and gone this week. You
may have heard of it from our blog, Facebook page, or the news. In addition to
the curved OLED TVs, 3D printing machines, and personal health monitoring,
portable power was a hot topic at this year’s show. We did, after all, get
honored by the CES Innovation Awards in that category. We had visitors from all
sorts of industries dropping by our booth to see the one-of-a-kind SunSocket
Solar Generator; visitors like U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker.
Secretary Pritzker was on a mission to visit the small
handful of companies attending the show that met certain requirements. She
wanted to show support for American brands based in a single state that
manufactured domestically and exported internationally. AspectSolar was one the
few honored companies (that’s two times we’d been honored so far at CES). For
fifteen minutes, Secretary Pritzker and our CEO, Esmond Goei, chatted about
where the company’s been and where we’re going. Needless to say, the future
looks bright with her blessing.
We had a few other interesting visits and we expect to
have a few interesting follow-up meetings. International CES 2014 was a
productive week for us! Expect to see AspectSolar products available through
more retailers and online distributors this year. That’s all we can say for
now.
Thanks, Las Vegas, for an amazing journey! Luckily, news
from International CES is the one thing that happens in Vegas and doesn’t stay
there. You’ll be seeing a lot more of us soon. We promise to bring even more
exciting innovation to next year’s show.
