New Addition: EnergyBar 250

It certainly has been a wild ride so far with the launch of our SunSocket Solar Generator back in April 2013.  Our infomercial received an unexpected amount of recognition and ended up getting blogged on some tech websites like Gizmodo and Gizmag.  It also got some attention on Treehugger and RedFerret.  Or maybe this attention was indeed expected since the video was so ridiculous.  You can see it here:

Since then we have been back in our labs working on our next product which is the EnergyBar 250.  The demand for this product has been quite positive, especially now and we haven't even released it yet.  You can pre-order it online for a massive discount and be one of the first to own one, but lets talk a bit more about the specifics of this product.  The EnergyBar 250 is a lightweight, slim, high capacity portable battery pack. By high capacity I mean it is a 20Ah battery, or in other words, a 256Wh battery.  That's enough energy to keep your laptop powered for 4-5 hours depending on what kind of laptop you have.  The great thing about the EnergyBar 250 is that it really isn't just for laptops.  It has an AC inverter which allows you to power virtually any portable electronic device, a 12V DC cigarette lighter socket for those odd devices that you usually charge in your car, and then 4 high speed USB outputs that allow you to charge 4 tablets at the same time.  Great for tailgating, outdoor gatherings, picnics, camping or even working whether you want to take your office to the beach for the day, or work outside of a cafe.  Funny enough, I was at Starbucks last week and it was packed!  No tables available inside anywhere near an outlet and I was actually looking for a place to work for the day.  The EnergyBar has also been well received by the aviation and sailing markets.

So what makes this product stand out?  For one thing, the high capacity battery is NOT Lithium Polymer which is what you will find in every small backup charger, and at high capacity size, those types of batteries would basically be forbidden by any airline security and you would be forced to toss our your expensive charger or go home and come back.  The EnergyBar 250 is truly designed for versatility and multiple capabilities, and uses an advanced battery technology known as Lithium Iron Phosphate aka LiFePO4.  Not only is this battery lightweight and ultra thin for storage, it actually has a lifespan longer than any other type of battery available on the market.  It's not a deep cycle battery like the ones you find in your car, which need to be changed after a few years.  Even the Lithium Polymer needs to be changed after a few years.  Think back to all those times you have to get a new battery for your laptop or phone because it dies.  The LiFePO4 battery in the EnergyBar 250 actually has a 10 year life span, and a self-discharge rate of less than 2% per month which means you can charge it and then leave it in your closet and forget about it for a year and it will still be charged!  Another neat thing about the EnergyBar 250 is that it can be daisy chained either to multiple EnergyBars, or to a SunSocket Solar Generator, or to a wall outlet to charge multiple simultaneously.  You can pre-order the EnergyBar 250 now for $100 off.  We're producing a limited supply so jump on it now!   Pre-orders only at http://www.aspectsolar.com.

Portability = Survival

We can't hide from it.  Disasters will happen, and we need to be prepared.

Worst Natural Disasters to affect the United States

Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Galveston - September 8, 1900
Great San Francisco Fire and Earthquake - April 18, 1906
Tri-State Tornado - March 18, 1925
Okeechobee Hurricane - September 16, 1928
Peshtigo Fire -  October 8, 1871
Heat Wave of 1980 - Summer of 1980
Heat Wave of 1988 - Summer of 1988
Loma Prieta Earthquake - October 17, 1989 (3000-12,000 left homeless)
Hurricane Katrina - August 29, 2005 (1.2 Million people evacuated)
Hurricane Sandy - October 22, 2012 (200,000 left homeless in Jamaica)
Manhattan Power-outage, Hurricane Sandy

Facts are facts, and the fact remains that we truly do not know when the unexpected will occur.  Disaster strikes at any time and in most cases without warning.  We have seen it time and time again, with the hurricanes that continue to hit our coastlines around the world, earthquakes, heat waves, and tornados.   Even severe lightning storms can cut off power to a whole town.  There will be times when you need to prepare for the worst, and having PORTABLE power, means survival.

Gas powered generators can provide lots of power, but they are extremely heavy and they also require gasoline.  During emergencies, and especially during natural disasters, it is highly likely that gasoline will be unaccessible.  The only way to ensure that you will always have power on the go is to look to using a solar generator.

SUNSOCKET Portable Solar Generator
Not only is having portable power important, but how fast you can get power is also important.  A solar generator without a solar panel is pointless because eventually the battery will deplete and you will be left with a paper weight.  Even a solar generator with a solar panel that might get 30-40 watts could be a waste of time because unless that solar panel is facing the sun at all times, you'll never be able to recharge your generator battery.

The SUNSOCKET SOLAR GENERATOR is the only portable generator in the world with sun-tracking technology, which means it is the only portable generator in the world that can consistently maximize its power intake to give users a consistent charge throughout the entire day without depleting any battery storage.  All that technology and power wrapped up in a portable case to take with you anywhere.  Are you prepared?

My Karaoke A-List: DON'T JUDGE ME!

In my last blog post, I talked about the THREE P's (Portable Power Provided) and how they can make your camping trip much more memorable for all your guests.  I mentioned that providing portable power means you can also have an outdoor karaoke night, and I also mentioned that I would share my list of go-to songs.  So here it is folks... I call this list...

Here are my all-time top 10 favorite karaoke songs starting from 10.  Please don't judge me, haha!

10.  "A Whole New World" - Aladdin

You might think I'm putting this song in here for the kids, but I'm not.  There is nothing funnier than watching and listening to a bunch of grown men sing this song.  If you don't kick off your karaoke night with a Disney song then you don't know what you are missing.  The best part to this song is when you realize that half the men want to sing the female verse as well.  Go Disney or go home.

You won't regret it.

9.  "My Way" - Frank Sinatra

There just wouldn't be a proper karaoke playlist without this song.  In fact, it might even be the true #1 karaoke song in Asia.  The only problem with this song is that every guy in the room wants to sing it solo... so you better draw straws before it gets ugly!  Either that or put your fists up!

8.  "Build Me Up Buttercup" - The Foundations

No better way to break up a fight over a Sinatra song than backing it up with some romantic upbeat classic pop song, especially one that everyone knows.  And when everyone sings the part that goes "why do you...", then pick someone to point to!  It's a good interactive song!

7.  "Rock 'n Roll All Night" - Kiss
I would paint my face black and white just to sing this song.  This song is an excuse to stick your tongue out and not feel ashamed.

6.  "Satisfaction" - Rolling Stones

Because everyone knows this song and it truly is pure Satisfaction.  The rumble from a whole crowd of people screaming at the top of their lungs singing "I CAN'T GET NO!!!!!" makes it difficult to refrain from joining in.

5.  "Zombie" - The Cranberries

Are you a Walking Dead fan?  Are you preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse? Then this song is for you.  The Cranberries are one of the greatest Irish rock bands of all time with one of the most unique and talented female vocalists of all time.  Towards the end of the song, the vocals die down and there is a light guitar solo which lasts just long enough for everyone to top off their drinks and do a toast before the next song plays.  Thank you Cranberries for being so considerate!

4. "Careless Whisper" - George Michael

Before you say anything, you should watch this viral video.  That is all.

3. "Hello" - Lionel Richie

Have you seen the music video to this song?  It is officially the creepiest, strangest, most awkward music video of all time.  Lionel Richie stalking his blind student and following her and staring at her everywhere she goes.  The awkwardness of this music video makes the song a karaoke hit.  Stare deep into your lover's eyes and sing it with me... "Hello!!!!!! Is it me you're looking for???"

2.  "Hotel California" - Eagles

This is one of the harder songs to sing, but a classic nonetheless, so I tend to sing it towards the end of the night when my voice is already starting to crack.  It's a tactic I like to use so that people can truly feel my intensity.  Try it during your next karaoke session and even when your are barely reaching the high notes, glance at your audience and you'll see the approval in their eyes.

1. "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen

This is my all-time favorite karaoke song.  You can't end a karaoke session unless you end it with one of Freddie Mercury's greatest hits.  There is no need to explain myself here.  Wayne's World knows what I'm talking about.  Dig deep into your inner-Karaoke Star and make Mr. Mercury proud.

To make your camping trip more memorable, order a solar generator now, and have the greatest outdoor karaoke experience of your life!

Best Camping Trip Ever

Have you ever wanted to hold that title amongst your friends?  Have you ever wanted to throw a beach party, camping trip, or BBQ in the park and have it be remembered as the party of the year?  How about it being so popular that your party just became an annual tradition?  So what makes a good weekend camping trip?  Food and Drinks.  What makes it the BEST weekend camping trip?....

The 3 P's:  Portable Power Provided

Imagine if you could offer these as your weekend entertainment line-up.

1.  Karaoke night.  This is a personal favorite.  Maybe in my next blog post I'll share with you my favorite karaoke songs.  The best part about doing karaoke at a party is to give out a prize to the best performer.  This doesn't necessarily have to be the person with the best voice, but they better put on a good show!

2.  Hire a DJ.  Just kidding.  You don't need to hire a DJ for the weekend when you can simply be one yourself!  Bring your laptop and a couple portable speakers and play unlimited tunes all weekend.

3.  Margaritas.  Bring a portable blender and make anything from a refreshing fruit smoothie to an icy blended margarita.

4.  Outdoor "Call of Duty" Tournament.  Have you ever played Call of Duty while camping?  Bring an LCD monitor and your XBox.   You can even switch it up for the kids, and bring some other games along.

5.  Lights.  Although lights sound a bit tame to everything else mentioned above, it might be the most valued.  During the night, you can't always rely on the flames of the campfire, and there will be times you need light even after the campfire has gone out.

Any other ideas folks?  Submit your ideas to me so I can compile into a new blogpost!  If you are looking for good portable power for your next camping trip or annual BBQ, check out the world's first sun-tracking solar generator at www.aspectsolar.com.

The ONLY True Solar Generator in the World

There is a misconception as to what a solar generator really means.  There are a lot of solar kits out there, and other types of portable solar applications, but there is only one solar generator available on the market that has the technology and power like the SUNSOCKET SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR.

Solar Kits

A "Solar Kit" is a simpler way of saying "solar with some assembly required."  The kit requires you to connect pieces together every time you want to use it, and you might even need someone to help you carry it.  These kits are ideal for those who like flexibility and versatility.  They are great because you can decide where you want to put your battery, or panel, and you can be creative with your setup.  Unfortunately, for portability or any real emergency, a solar kit might not be the best solution.

A typical solar kit includes 4 basic items:
1.  Solar Panel(s)
2.  Portable Battery
3.  Portable AC Inverter
4.  A bunch of cables

Prices and sizes of solar kits can vary anywhere from $300 to $2600 depending on how much power and capability you get out of it.  More powerful solar kits might come with up to 4 solar panels, and possibly 2 large batteries.  If this is the case, you will need help to carry this around.  If you go camping, you will need to carry each item outside.  You'll need to find proper sunlight and also find something sturdy that you can prop the panels to.  You will need to prop up the panels in order to face them towards the sunlight.  Be very careful when you carry the portable battery.  Many of these batteries are Lead-Acid and weigh much more than you might expect.  Some of these batteries can weigh up to 100 pounds!  Please... be careful.  Also, when you pack everything up, try not to lose anything.

Solar Generators:

A solar generator is not a kit, but BEWARE, because there are many manufacturers that advertise a product as a Solar Generator but it is actually just a battery.  A true solar generator is a product that has everything you need and is built into one unit.  There is no assembly required.  For instance (you knew I would insert this at some point), the SUNSOCKET SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR is a perfect example of a true solar generator.

SUNSOCKET SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR
1.  The panels, battery, inverter, and all cables or wires are all built into a single case.  Easier to carry, and easier to manage.

2.  It can sustain itself, which means the panels are powerful enough to fill the battery at the same rate as depletion, even if you were powering a laptop and a tablet at the same time.  This is extremely important because it allows you to power devices during the day without depleting the battery.
SUNSOCKET SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR

3.  It is the only portable solar generator in the world that has sun-tracking technology which means this generator will always get the most power at any time of the day as the panels continuously position themselves towards the sun.

SUNSOCKET SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR DEMO VIDEO

THIS IS THE ONLY SOLAR GENERATOR IN THE WORLD WITH SUN-TRACKING TECHNOLOGY!  ORDER YOURS NOW!

AspectSolar Launches First Ever Portable Sun-Tracking Solar Generator

The SUNSOCKET™ SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR/CHARGER is the first product released by AspectSolar, an up and coming pioneer in advanced consumer solar products.  This solar generator is also the first portable generator or charger in the world to utilize a proprietary sun-tracking technology which continuously positions the photo-voltaic (PV) panels towards the sun throughout the entire day.

PV panels must be at a constant direct angle towards the sun to ensure they perform at the maximum efficiency and provide the highest possible charge to the built-in battery.  Since these PV panels automatically track the sun, the user never has to worry about repositioning them to avoid losing power every minute the sun passes.  This creates the most satisfying solar experience for anyone looking to use solar generators/chargers to power their many portable electronic devices outdoor for an extended period of time.

Most solar products currently on the market are solar “kits” because they require the user to carry and connect multiple parts together such as individual PV panels, external batteries, inverters, and PV stands – thus the label “kit”.  The SUNSOCKET™ SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR/CHARGER is not a kit, and is in fact the only “all-in-one” solar generator that integrates high efficiency 60-Watt solar panels, a 250-Watt battery, and a complete user interface with 4 USB outputs, a 12V DC socket, and a built-in AC universal inverter into a unique compact and light weight unit that may be carried by a single handle.  It is hard to believe that all that technology and power is built into a portable case with a total weight of only 25 pounds.  The “all-in-one” design also removes any risk of losing parts, and makes it easy to store in the trunk of any car.

The SUNSOCKET™ SUN-TRACKING SOLAR GENERATOR/CHARGER product demo video recently released publicly on YouTube shows the innovative design in action with a clear review of the multiple outputs, which provide enough power for multiple electronic devices.  Right now, this generator is only available in the U.S. and can be shipped to all 50 states excluding Alaska and Hawaii.
